Boy Scout leader

Description

Al Blendermann will be stepping down as Scoutmaster for Troop 113 on February 27, 2012 @ 6:30 at Salem Lutheran Church in Tomball, TX.  The standard for BSA Troop 113 had been set back in 1954. An amazing Scoutmaster, Judge Joe Mahan, brought SEVEN boys to Eagle rank in one year. Al Blendermann has set a new standard during his term as Scout Master for Troop 113 having 42 Eagles in 4.5 years, 13 in 2010! We currently have 76 Scouts in our troop and are expecting to welcome the new scouts to join this spring.  Al began his journey with Boy Scouting as a youth and earned his own Eagle Rank in 1973. He became active as an adult Den Leader with his son in scouting in 2002. Within a few short years crossed over as Scoutmaster (2007) for Troop 113 and he and his team of adult leaders  have received 42 Eagles. Al is a Sergeant with Harris County Sheriff’s Office and is currently involved in a leadership role with Harris County Jr. Mounted Posse and Explorers through the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. We are inviting all of his Eagle Scouts to recognize him in his retirement to the service at Salem Lutheran Church, but many of them are away at college and one is even overseas in the military.   We hope you can be there to cover this event too.  Please let me know if you’d like to send someone to cover the story.  Dayna
